NEXT LEVEL: TECHNOLOGY! The Technology-Roadmaps until 2023

It´s mainly technology that changes the world. In ever shortening time intervals, it pushes new waves of yet unbelievable innovations into the world. People adapt fast, no other human characteristic seems to be that distinct. Thankfully! However, the biggest challenge is faced by the companies: In that stressful back and forth between short-term profit orientation and long-term realignment, they are forced to constant change.Which technological advances will approach the companies within the next 10 years?

Which ones will become drivers? And which technologies have the strategic power to initiate disruptive market changes? In this panel, trend researcher Sven Gabor Janszky, together with CTOs from different sectors, will present the technological roadmaps until 2023.

2:00 - 3:00 pm Strategy Arena
NEXT LEVEL: OTT! When business models come off of infrastructure.

At first, experts thought of it as a phenomenon of the entertainment sector. After record labels, also established television companies lost their strategic power positions: The power of TV channels over frequencies decreased with increasing digitization as well as the power of music labels over CD distribution and pressing plants. The world of the Internet empowered aggressors to use existing infrastructures without owning them with the help of so called over-the-top-models (OTT). On the contrary:  By cheaper business models and more flexible structures, the OTT aggressors gain market shares of the established infrastructure owners.

And now we´re getting to the point! OTT models do not only conquer the entertainment industry, but they attack the traditional industries as well: Generation of energy by OTT models in their own power plants with guaranteed feeding in foreign networks, new railway companies with OTT models and usufructuary for rail networks, new airlines with OTT models and the use of established infrastructure, etc. Where will this OTT trend lead to? How can providers of infrastructure defend their market position? Or does any OTT player automatically win because of more flexible structures and younger employees? And will there even be new business models for infrastructure providers such as companies providing drywalls, automobiles or goods wagons? New models they don?t know about yet?

The Strategy of the OTT-Aggressors
Dr. Andreas Schroeter, Founder, wywy

The logic of the defenders of infrastructure
Kerstin Günther, Senior Vice President Technology, Deutsche Telekom

The experiences  of the Gamechanger
Koen Spiers, Head of Social Media Management, KLM

3:00 - 4:00 pm TrendCycle method
NEXT LEVEL: BUSINESS MODELS! How OTT models change their industry

The trend cycle method is often used by 2b AHEAD ThinkTank in creative workshops. On the one hand it allows to develop a business model and the influencing trend factors on a single sheet within a short time. On the other hand, it shows the upcoming consequences of rule breaking and shows possible business model innovation in existing markets.

This panel offers more than a discussion. The participants act and react in small teams, confront each other with trends and pass on ideas from table to table. Following the previous strategy arena, new business models for over-the-top models in the fields of mobility, media, energy and insurance are developed here. Coaches from the 2b AHEAD ThinkTank are taking over the role of hosts and the active management of the business model developments. They show how you can use the trend-cycle method in your business to develop ideas into business models within no time.

Coaches from the ThinkTank are leading the groups,
Dr. Jörg Wallner, Director Innovation Management & Consulting, 2b AHEAD ThinkTank

4:00 - 4:30 pm Keynote
NEXT LEVEL: INNOVATION! How to run a Corporate Garage
Prof. Martin Curley, Director, Intel Labs Europe

A few months ago, Silicon Valley trembled. One of the leading examples in the most innovative region of the world prognosticated the end. David Sacks had just sold his company's internal-social networking service Yammer for 1.2 billion US Dollar to Microsoft and then declared: The big corporations have become so professional  in building up their innovation departments that these Corporate Garages absorb every idea after it had become public. Corporations have learned to work with flexible structures, they start SpeedBoats, make them grow or let them disappear again...as if they were small garage businesses. The golden times of Silicon Valley, when StartUps could first try and grow because of the lethargy of large corporations, are over.Regardless of whether this prognosis comes true or not, this keynote is dedicated to the question of how the corporate garage of the future will work. How can established companies develop the same innovation-dynamic like startups? And is that only possible in California or here as well?

5:00 - 5:15 pm Interview:
NEXT LEVEL: REALITYCHECK! When innovation becomes dangerous

Sven Gábor Jánszky under discussion with

Prof. Martin Curley, Director, Intel Labs Europe

NEXT LEVEL: Happiness! Will technology improve our quality of life?

Whenever computers begin to understand human emotions and react to it, whenever "intelligent" computer assistants take over human activities, whenever input devices between people and machines disappear through gesture-, speech- and thought control - will we be happier? Can computers learn human system-1 and system-2 decisions? Do machines have intuition? Can you fool them? When machines already understand thoughts, the next step, namely transmission of thoughts from brain to brain, is not far off. Will they have access rights to our emotions and thoughts? And what happens to those people who haven?t learned to deal competently with technology? Where will the social trenches be in 2023?

This panel discusses where the boundary between people and machines will be in 2023 and what we have to do in order to become happier with the help of technology.

Will technology increase  our life quality?
Prof. Hans Georg Näder, President & CEO, Otto Bock Holding

UpA compass for a high tech world - Technology and competition analysis with the help of BigData

Global dynamic markets and the integration of all spheres of life determine new challenges for decision makers. How healthy is my company compared to the competitors? Who are technology and opinion leaders? In which technology should I invest? Who to cooperate with? Who to ignore? Who to attack? These questions have to be answered on the basis of daily data.A prompt transformation of this data to meaningful information decides whether your company is successful or not. Methods of BigData analysis help to overview the big picture and make the right decision. Those methods can create new coherences relevant for decisions. Dr. Peter Walde presents an innovative approach of analytical procedures combined with intuitive accessible visualisation of information for strategic decision making. It links indicators of patents, science, press, social media and finance to a 360 degrees view of the field of technology push and market pull.

Dr. Peter Walde, Director of Mapegy

NEXT LEVEL: The non-customer concept!

Far too often the development of new business areas do not fail in lack of ideas, but because of the implementation. The existing concepts do not even become prototypes... the decision makers can therefore hardly evaluate the opportunities. Idea dead! In this part of the Congress 2b AHEAD ThinkTank demonstrates its guests how simple and predictable, the first step to develop prototypes with the "non-customers" concept can be.This part of the congress is highly entertaining and has a high activity potential. With Bisozcialisation and breaking-the-rules-questions (How Google would operate an airline? What would the iPhone of the cars look like?) Existing business models will be turned upside-down. Or from head to feet? within two hours the participants will develop live and actively meaningful prototypes for future products in the fields of mobility, media, energy, health care, pharmaceutical, insurance and food, make it tangible and tactile and process it in story form. The experts of 2b AHEAD ThinkTank are accompanying and coaching you.

Discussion about the general elections
Wolfsburg Declaration - Future Congress demands solutions for most urgent questions of the future

The congress creates an image of our live in ten years from now, but important decisions will already be made in the upcoming term. Therefore, the German election in about three months will be part of the congress' program this year. Parties must know the most important questions of our future and need to find solutions. But do they? We would like to bundle the think tank's expertise and invite you to a discussion about what the most urgent unsolved questions are. The result will be a wake-up call for the politicians and will be publicly handed over to the parties as the Wolfsburg Declaration. By the way: You can give your fictional vote in the German election at the congress. The renowned magazine "Stern" organizes an alternative election and will be present with its own polling booth on June 18.

He gives us an impressive insight on how a normal working day in year 2025 will look like. But what does "normal" mean in this context? We are experiencing full employment and job nomads, lifelong knowledge coaches and robots that explain work to us; businesses without employees and unemployed persons without future; education mayors and the campaign slogan "Everyone study!"; Entrepreneurs at the age of 60 and the retirement age of 80; competence balances that cause the shares to rise, and a bailout policy by specialists from Uzbekistan. Spend 30 minutes in your future! Follow us into a fascinating sci-fi world where you will be working tomorrow! Be prepared for a thrilling travel through time to 2025!

2:00 - 3:00 pm StrategyArena
NEXT LEVEL: LEADERSHIP! How fluid companies work

Companies of the year 2023 are mainly characterized by one phenomenon: For 5 years now, less young people are entering the labor market than elderly are leaving ...fewer and fewer workers are available. The battle for highly qualified project workers requires from companies fluid leadership and networked processes. How do fluid structures work? Who organizes the open collaboration between companies, partners, suppliers and customers? And which role will current service providers play in 2023? Even more importantly seems the strategic role of low-skilled workers. If there are not enough well-educated people, the low-skilled have to do their jobs. Machines could tell them what they have to do. Are human laborers bad for machines? Will there still be a job center in 2023? And will machines take over the leadership position?

This panel discusses the new changed demands on companies and on their service providers and the strategically important role of low-skilled people.

How do fluid companies work?

Without any salary, they pursue their big vision and work on a space rocket. 34 young men who convinced thousands of Ugandans and their president to become member of their organization: The first African Space Program. It is a lovable bunch of lunatics that gave up their humble existence, because they believe that they are going to fly to space soon. Young people that learned for years to get a college place and then dropped out for their  to put the stars into practice. Did they really take off?

4.00 - 5.00 pm StrategyArena
NEXT LEVEL: Home! How will a future-affine region look like in 2023?

Obviously, highly skilled project workers are those who will form the workplace of 2023. They are said to be 30-40% of the total workers in 2023. They bring adding value to business locations and leave the site after a few months for the next challenging project. But do job nomads not need a home at all? Are security and stability expiring values? And what does that mean for the political leaders in the regions? So far, our regions constantly locate themselves against the trends of mobility. They summon consistency, safety and rooting and try to keep their residents. But don´t they need to deliberately repel them in order to attract them back later?
At the end of the 12th Future Congress of 2b AHEAD ThinkTank, trend researcher Sven Gabor Jánszky will ask his guests one of the most important questions for the coming years: Which role will home play in our lives in the future?

How does the ideal location for global knowledge economy look like?
Dr. Andreas Keller, Director Technology Innovation , Siemens Healthcare

What might be the meaning of home in 2023?
Andreas Steinhauser, Holzmarkt eG Berlin
